Types of capacitor?

There are many different types of capacitor that are used in electronic equipment, each one has it's own characteristics.

Difference types of capacitor

the difference types of capacitor are following :-

1. Electrolytic capacitor

2. Mica capacitor

3. Paper capacitor

4. Film capacitor

5. Non polarized capacitor

6. Ceramic capacitor

One by one you get understand,

1. Electrolytic capacitor

The Electrolytic capacitor is a type of capacitor that uses an electrolyte can achieve very high or larger capacitance with very small sizes and other capacitor types the electrolytic capacitor are one side or plate coated through electrolysis with the thin layer of oxide. The dielectric plate replaced by an electrolyte the distance between the two plates is very small.

The electrolyte capacitor is a polar and if positive to the (+) terminal and negative to the (-) terminals as an incorrect polarization or damage the capacitor, to reverse terminal polarities. It cannot take pure AC current and DC power supply is applied to the capacitor terminals do not change and must be correct polarity the capacitor negative (-) & positive (+) terminals are identify. It's a simple way, i.e. short tail has negative (-) lead. Long tail has positive (+) lead.

2. Mica capacitor

Mica capacitor is a group of natural minerals or found in granties and other rocks.

The dielectric material is oppse the flow of electric current or electric charges mica is used in trimmer capacitor there are difference types of dielectric material for constructing the mica capacitor such as muscovite, white mica, ruby or rose mica and amber mica. The mica capacitor used designed calls for a stable reliable capacitor of a relatively small and mica capacitor is a high priority capacitor.

3. Paper capacitor

Paper capacitor is a capacitor that uses paper as the dielectric material to store electric charge or energy this paper capacitor is between the two tin foil sheet is covered or soaked oil and thin wax to protect it from outside harmful environment.

Paper capacitor are fixed type of capacitor that means this type of capacitor provides fixed capacitance (capacitance means ability to hold or store electric charge or energy) the paper capacitor capacitance range from 0.001 to 2.000 micro farad and the voltage is very high which is upto 2000v.

4. Film capacitor

Film capacitor is the most widely frequently used in electrical or electronic devices and this capacitors are also known as plastic film capacitor, film dielectric capacitors or polymer film capacitor the film capacitor is used to construct the dielectric material is aluminium or zinc is used to construct the electrodes of the capacitor.

Film capacitor are high power resistance is required film capacitor are AC voltage rating range from up to 400v.

5. Non polarized capacitor

Non polarized capacitor are not electrolytic it simple words, these type of capacitor there have no charges means positive (+) and negative (-) and is also called as bipolar or non polar.
(NPC) non polar capacitor are requires AC applications in series or in parallel with signal or power supply these capacitor have small capacitance values it ranges from micro- farad and nano- farad ( they are used mother boards, computers and simple circuit boards. ( NPC) have no anyone charges.

6. Ceramic capacitor

Ceramic capacitor are most used in electrical instruments and they have cheaper to the manufacture this capacitor have more number of alternating layers with ceramic and also metal layers act's as a electrodes.

The ceramic capacitor (CC) values ranges from 1 nano-farad to 1 micro-farad.The values are up to '1000' micro-farad are possible the ceramic capacitor (CC) have high frequency response.
