uses of resistor.

      We know that, one of the main uses of resistor is to control the flow of current. In a resistor, electrons have a collision with ions which slows down the flow of electricity and lowers the current and also produces heat if a resistor is said to have high resistance then it means less current flow's in it for the given voltage.

* some applications and uses of resistor are listed below:-

Circuit function

 Dividing voltage or voltage  divider

Heating

 Frequency and timing

 LED's and transistor

• Resistor usage in circuit function:-

                  There are various types of resistor that work according to usage range you set their resistance by sliding a slider or turning a knob varying resistance  changes the amount of current flowing in a circuit you or other words, changing the resistance will affect the flow of current inside the circuit for example,  this type of resistor used in controlling the speed of motor pitch of musical tone, loudness of an amplifier etc.

• Resistor is used for dividing voltage or voltage divider

              The voltage divider is a resistor connected together, one after other, forming a series circuit will help to drop the voltage across each resistor equally, thus, appliances  smoothly which works in those cond'n. Voltage divider useful components that need to operate at a lesser voltage than that supply by  the input.

• It is also used for heating:-

             Because of the nature of generating heat when conducting  current, resistor are used in a heater, toaster, microwave, electric stove and many more  heating appliances. In a light bulb the metal filament glows white hot due to very high temperature produced from the resistance when electricity is passed through it.

• Uses of resistor to function in particular timing and at certain frequency:-

                Many circuit designs use a resistor connected to a capacitor to provide a timing source light flasher's, electronic sirens, and many more other circuits depends on this features. The capacitor which holds electric  charge like a cup of holds water takes a certain amount of time to fill with current and the resistor determined how fast the capacitor fills up. If you multiply the ohm value of resistor by the farad value of capacitor, you get a time value measured in seconds, as resistance increases the circuit time period also increases.

• Resistor's used in LED's and transistor:-

                   Transistor and LED'S devices sensitive electric current. too much current will destroy them,  but too little prevents them from working  property. A resistor of the correct value  place in the circuit all transistor LED'S  and other semiconductors components to function  in the current range that suits them best.

* Main points :-

Appliances such as electric heater, electric ovens and toaster's all used resistor to turn correct into heat then using the heat cost from this resistor to warm the surrounding area.
